This survey tries to check the outcome achieved by the researchers (Wadud, A., & White, B. ,2000) through an alternate methodology that is hold in the stochastic frontier model construction and compare them with those obtained in Data Envelopment Analysis.
For it, the authors have performed a researcher in the argentinean northeast silvo pasture sector constructing deterministics and stochastics models and it has the assump-tion that the production frontier is aptly represented by the mathematical function named translog.
It has been demonstrated that as much the variable scale return DEA models as the equivalent to the constant scale return model show greater variability that the stochastic frontier measures.
