Due to the importance of this element, various management models have been developed, with leadership as one of their key pillars, understanding that it is exercised by a leader.This research aims to identify the most important elements that leadership must possess in the quality management process within SMEs in the state of Carabobo, Venezuela. To achieve this, a bibliographic review was conducted, followed by an analysis using the Delphi method, structured in three rounds with the participation of experts in management and leadership.As a result, from the 18 elements initially evaluated, five fundamental leadership characteristics were identified: the ability to take risks, analytical thinking, perseverance, the capacity to acquire and capitalize on knowledge, and strategic vision.
