Wetlands are very important ecosystems, however, are highly degraded, one of the main causes is the human impact on these. Therefore, this research aims at developing a Diagnosis of State Cadastre and Conservation of Marine Coastal Wetlands Biobío Region (36º00 'S and 71º00' W), Chile, in order to generate criteria for the protection and sustainable use in the Instruments of Territorial Planning.
The results established that the 13 marine-coastal wetlands evaluated in the Biobío Region, 30.8% had high conservation problems being prioritized for restoration and conservation, for its quality and Poor Very Poor. These wetlands correspond to Rocuant- Andalién, Canal El Morro, South Mouth of Biobío River and Lenga. The factors explaining these conservation issues related to the presence of microbasurales construction and occupation. On the other hand, 15.3% were classified as well-preserved categorized as "Good", these are: North River Mouth Boca Biobío and Maule.
