Allegations of Neighbors as Mechanism for Disease Control in Concepción (1890-1902)

This work is about how in the second half of the nineteenth century and in the context of a cholera epidemic, the state sought to impose forms of healthcare speech in the town of Concepcion. One of those ways was to empower residents to denounce those who could not meet the requirements demanded by local authorities on hygiene and cleanliness. This showed the contradictions that arose between different social groups in the city of Concepcion and how they were incorporated according to their own social position, health discourse generated from the central authority in Santiago to the local urban reality.
