Abstract

The research aims to determine the quality of the financial structure of traditional Chilean universities through the use of financial ratios, later to relate the perception of academic quality.

As a contribution to research may be advanced, which should establish parameters that determine a good quality academic education institutions, through a collection of various criteria and parameters used by different institutions devoted to the subject. Same financial ratios that are able to establish financial accounting structure for these institutions will be calculated.

The results show that there is a strong relationship between some indicators analyzed individually and perceived academic quality of the institutions analyzed, but when analyzed together, the relationship between these two dimensions, based on the financial aspect and the academic management vanishes.
