El terremoto de 1960
Abstract
A las 14:50 del 22 de Mayo de 1960 se altera repentinamente el largo reposo de la tierra insular con un movimiento grado 8 y tantos. Nada podía sostenerse en pie. Las fachadas de cemento de las casas de calle Blanco fueron las primeras en desmoronarse con estruendo al primer sacudón. Al descubierto quedaban los humildes interiores de madera. Toda construcción de cemento se venía al suelo sin oponer la más ligera resistencia, excepto la Escuela Superior que no sufrió ni una grieta.
