Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to reflect on the changes, organization and continuity of production of urban space, considering the peculiarities and realities of living conditions and habitat of the population of the poorer neighborhoods. From this perspective, it examines the phenomenon of urban segregation, responsible for modifying social relations, making its residents believe, produce and reproduce new and old ways of living in and interacting with the spaces they inhabit. One of the areas of Curundú Corregimiento, located in Panama City, is used as a case study, a notorious area stigmatized for its violence and poverty. In this context, the article presents the pedagogical experience developed in the Escuela de Arquitectura y Diseño de América Latina y El Caribe-ISTHMUS, Panamá, showing the projects carried out by students in the Curundú district.
