Abstract

The perimeter corridor is one of the most characteristic features of countryside houses in Chile. This intermediate space softens the presence of the summer sun in summer and protects against the rain in winter.

It is also a place for rest, work and contemplation. On this account, the perimeter corridor is an essential part of countryside living in Chile that has become perfected in time based on the experience and knowledge rooted in the local culture.
