Usability and user satisfaction with a mental health monitoring application for education workers
Main Article Content
Abstract
The mental health of education workers is a key factor in occupational well-being and the effective functioning of educational communities, which has driven the development of technological tools for its monitoring and promotion. In this context, the aim of this study was to analyze education workers' perceptions and satisfaction regarding the usability of a technological application designed to monitor mental health indicators in a school setting. A qualitative approach with a single-case study design was employed. Five employees from an educational institution in Chillán, Chile, participated in the study. They used the application and subsequently took part in semi-structured interviews. The findings revealed a positive evaluation of the application, highlighting its ease of use, clear navigation, accessibility, and usefulness in fostering reflection on personal and occupational well-being. However, some challenges were identified, primarily related to compatibility issues with certain mobile devices. It is concluded that the acceptance and usability of technological applications for mental health monitoring depend on both their design and functionality, as well as the institutional conditions that support their implementation and use.
