About the Journal
FOCUS AND SCOPE
Hábitat Sustentable (e-ISSN: 0719-0700) is an Open-Access scientific journal that publishes the latest advances in knowledge regarding the sustainability of the built environment, ranging from a building and public space scale to materials and construction processes. Its target audience is researchers, academia, and professionals interested in the sustainability of the life cycle of the built environment, the development of materials, as well as its design, construction, operation, maintenance, dismantling, reuse, etc.
Hábitat Sustentable is published biannually in electronic format, in the second half of June and December. It accepts articles in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Created in 2011, the journal is edited by the University of Bío-Bío in Concepción (Chile), through the Vice-Rector's Office for Research and Postgraduate Studies (VRIP-UBB) and the Faculty of Architecture, Construction, and Design (FARCODI) to disseminate results of original scientific research. There is special interest in addressing themes from the context of the Global South, with a contextualization of the social, economic, cultural, and climatic realities, among others.

Manuscripts on materials, structures, energy, and other applications for non-building infrastructure (highways, bridges, tunnels, etc.) fall outside the scope of this journal.
