Abstract
El Estuario de la Bahía de San Francisco
El Río Sacramento comienza su flujo hacia el mar cerca del Monte Shasta en la Cordillera de las Montañas Cascade. A trescientas millas de distancia, en los nevados de la Sierra Nevada, otro gran río, el San Joaquín, tiene su nacimiento. Hasta que fueron represados y desviados, estos dos ríos transportaban cerca de la mitad de las precipitaciones que caen sobre California hacia el delta donde se juntan los ríos, unas 40 millas al noreste de San Francisco.
