Colour in the city, an urban proposal
Keywords:
colour, city, urbanism, identity, educationAbstract
The city, understood as an urban space network, consists of nodes whose spatial and/or social identity is related, amongst other things, to a certain range of colours. Through the analysis of two case studies in the city of Valdivia in Chile, this study establishes the relationship between colour, architecture, urban context and the identity of the inhabitants. The methodology used to create the colour design of each project is an important part of the work. As a result, colour is revealed as an element that, when used with adequate methodology, can become established as a connector between urban nodes, helping to build integrated spaces, enhancing urban architecture, history, social organization, aesthetics and ultimately forming better cities.
