CLASSROOM LEARNING COLLABORATIONS AT THE BEGINNING OF COVID-19

Abstract

This collaborative learning experience arose at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, specifically during the first academic semester of 2020. The action took place in a subsidized private school in the city of Valdivia in the Los Ríos region and was framed in the subject of Language and Communication for the second level of basic general education (NB2). 3rd year basic students complemented their reading and comprehension skills, addressing various instructional texts in order to make kneaded bread. We worked collaboratively with families to support the teaching-learning process of the students in their homes. The adults were guides and mediators in the completion of this task. The various actors involved in the pedagogical experience evaluated and provided feedback on what was experienced. As a consequence of the above, the extrapolation of the traditional classroom to the home, the genuineness of everyday life, psycho-emotional well-being and the contribution of parents to the evaluation mechanisms, are conceived as one of the great opportunities for the education and training of the students in emergency contexts.
