CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE FILM “AMÁRRATE A SALAMANCA”: LYSERGIC, WITCHCRAFT AND POPULAR CULTURE
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper presents an ethical-aesthetic approach to the film “AMÁRRATE A SALAMANCA”, the third collaboration of the duo Rodríguez-Faúndez, who experiment with audiovisual language as a medium for recording and creation to explore B cinema in education. The article examines the productive mechanisms, technical procedures, and systems of thought that interact with the piece, influencing its structure. It distinguishes aspects of production and creation as polarities in tension, which determine epistemic differences when addressing Cinema-School as fields of meaning in educational contexts. The authors' proposal is placed within the framework of Social Cinema or Third Cinema, thoroughly exploring its American conception along with the chronology of its development in “contemporary cinema in Chile,” from the canons of the New Chilean Cinema to the remnants of a late 20th-century post-dictatorship cinema.
