Main Article Content
Abstract
In order to train professionals today, it is not enough just to provide knowledge; students must learn tools that enable them to solve problems in highly complex scenarios. For this, it is not only necessary to have teachers who are experts in their subjects, but also teachers who know how to use better and appropriate tools to put them into practice in a responsible manner, considering the social and cultural reality. In this sense, it is necessary to bet on the training of professionals who develop skills to build knowledge that is useful and as meaningful as possible, to make decisions in the different scenarios of their professional field. In this context, the Service Learning methodology is presented as a tool that would allow higher education institutions to respond in an integrated manner to the need of the community and the need for early practices.
